Dear Van Jones, and Other Pundits, do you Think he’s Still Presidential After Saturday’s Tweets?

by StellaRay –

I’m tired of saying I’ve never seen anything like it in my lifetime. Got to move it up to saying I’ve never seen anything like it in my study of American history, of which I majored in and taught. Yeah, there’s some bad presidents in that long list, but never one so mentally impaired and incompetent as Donald.

This business of “raising Donald” is so…searching for words…searching…searching. Google cannot help. Coming up with less than adequate words, because there are no words. But the best I can do, is say that I see the media’s response to Donald’s speech to congress, like a conference between parents and teachers over a very troubled child.

“Oh my, didn’t Donny do well at that?”

“Let’s be fair, Donny didn’t throw a mud pie at you this time.”

“Clearly, Donald can read!’

“We think Donny is on the edge of a break through, don’t you?”

“You have to say, our Donald shows signs of improvement!”

Some pundits, such as Van Jones, Chris Cillizza and others, went further, and crowned him as presidential based on that, for me, cringe worthy moment with the slain SEAL’s widow. I won’t say why it was so cringe worthy for me, as others have said it so well. Or why reading a speech off a teleprompter (DEAR GOD, doesn’t anyone in the press remember what a sin it was for Obama to use a teleprompter?!?!) is proof of being presidential?

—After all the unhinged moments of his infant presidency, not to mention his campaign…

—After all the racist, mysogynist evidence spewing out of the mouth of this man as a candidate and as a president…

—After all the smoke billowing out of the white house now regarding Russian connections…

—After all his many blatant, proud and totally unconcerned about it lies…

— After all the news stories about the growing unchecked power of our immigration officials under Trump…

—After the clear and present danger of a huge increase in hate crimes…

—After all his careless executive orders…

—After all his un-vetted cabinet picks who have smoke billowing out of their butts, in lies and connections and bought and paid for positions…

—After, after, after, SO MUCH. After what should have created a raging river of doubt in the media. I will concede, they have gotten better, if too late to save us from this catastrophe to begin with. But I gotta say, the response to his speech, even overwhelmed as it is now by more news…and this will continue to by the rhythm under chaos…set me back from thinking the media is making any big improvement.

After freaking all of this, we have not only the media, but people who should freaking know better, lowering that bar to the point that this country cannot Lindy under it and survive. Talking to you Van Jones, and you, Chris Cillizza, and others.

Then, this morning, Donny gets the tweet machine back from his parents (his staff, his family, the GOP, the media, the pundits) and accuses Obama of illegally wire tapping him. In a FREAKING TWEET. WITH NO evidence.

And of course it’s hardly the first time. Hence my theme of AFTER ALL THIS…

My greatest fear is that people are just too numbed right now to know just how HUGE of a statement of incompetency his tweets were this morning. Just how HUGE of a statement of his growing fears are, and a scared Donald should be a very scared nation. Just how HUGE of a statement of his ignorance of our laws are. Once again. But this time, he accused the former president of crimes. It is ratcheting up with every day.

People are getting used to him. They shrug him. That is so dangerous, I don’t have the words for it. Today I watched Trump supporters protesting, and heard them repeat his unsubstantiated attacks on Obama. Then I heard the GOP pick up on those attacks, to the point where some of them are calling for an investigation into Obama—a president who was clean as a whistle in terms of scandal.

So, Van Jones, Chris Cillizza, and others, do you think Donny has sustained his presidential status TODAY? Did you not think it was maybe worthy of pausing, before you leapt into that role of raising Donald, AGAIN?!? Waiting for him to pivot or reset the way a dog pants for a treat?

FREAKING PATHETIC.

Do you have ANY remorse for your unending need to raise Donald? Do you not think this is crazy weird to have to raise a president?  Are you the distraught parents in that teacher conference I speak of?
