Hillary Clinton’s Response To Bullying Moves Fifth-Grader To Tears (VIDEO)

Democratic presidential front runner Hillary Clinton took a shot at Donald Trump while comforting one of her youngest supporters during a town hall meeting in Iowa yesterday.

Fifth-grader Hannah Tandy was in attendance, and she waited until the end of the event to ask Clinton how she would address bullying, especially when certain mental and medical conditions were concerned. When Clinton asked Tandy what made her ask this question, the 10-year-old revealed that she had personally been affected by bullying:

“I have asthma, and occasionally I’ve heard people talking behind my back about not wanting to be near me because I have asthma. I mean, people, it’s not contagious.”

Clinton hugged Tandy and told her that she was “very brave” for asking the question on behalf of Americans everywhere who have experienced or been affected by bullying. Clinton then pulled from her own experiences and challenges. She seemed to reference her ongoing difficulties with Republican candidate Donald Trump, who had just 24 hours earlier made a very disrespectful comment about her 2008 loss to President Barack Obama, and called the bathroom break that delayed her return to the Democratic Debate on Saturday “disgusting.”
Taking a subtle swing at the GOP’s current front runner, Clinton said to Tandy and her audience:

“I really do think we need more love and kindness in our country. That’s why it’s important to stand up to bullies wherever we are, and why we shouldn’t let anybody bully his way into the presidency, because that is not who we are as Americans.”

She also added that she was someone “who’s had a lot of terrible things said about” her, but was now “old enough that it doesn’t particularly bother” her. Clinton also pointed out that social media gives people an easier way than ever before to make nasty comments.

“I think we all need to be aware of the pain and real anguish bullying can cause. I don’t think a lot of people who do it really understand how it makes other people feel.”

Apparently, this was all Tandy needed to hear. The young girl was moved to tears by Clinton’s response.
