Obama Smacks Down Outrageous GOP Comments: ‘Ridiculous If It Weren’t So Sad’ (VIDEO)

Barack ObamaEver since the announcement that the Obama administration was about to foster a nuclear deal with Iran, Republicans have been telling everyone they possibly can how horrible it is. They were telling people how horrible it was before it was written, and they were telling people how devastating it was before they even read it once completed.

Then, to continue on their quest to make the deal seem like the end of days, many have boasted horrifically denigrating rhetoric. Republican presidential hopeful Mike Huckabee even went so far as to make a Holocaust analogy:

“This president’s foreign policy is the most feckless in American history. It is so naive that he would trust the Iranians. By doing so, he will take the Israelis and march them to the door of the oven.

These remarks are so horrible, in fact, they are worthy of international condemnation. So, from his trip in Ethiopia, President Obama struck back at not only Huckabee, but several of the GOP remarks being spouted by various senators and presidential candidates.

In regards to Huckabee, he said the remark is:

“Part of just a general pattern that we’ve seen that would be considered ridiculous if it weren’t so sad.”

Basically calling the former Arkansas governor pathetic, and rightfully so. Drawing attention to the fact that outrageous comments seem to be what grabs headlines these days, and maybe he’s trying to steal some of the spotlight away from fellow contender Donald Trump.

The president also pointed out Sen. Ted Cruz’s (R-TX) remark that Obama is a “state sponsor of terrorism,” as well as Sen. Tom Cotton’s (R-AR) calling Secretary of State John Kerry “Pontius Pilate.” And that these men are leaders within their party, with language like this is unacceptable.

Being outrageous is what grabs the media’s attention — like when Trump said Senator McCain wasn’t a war hero and everyone was so upset. President Obama is calling them out on it, saying:

“The Republican Party is shocked and yet that arises out of a culture where those kind of outrageous attacks have become far too commonplace and yet circulated nonstop through the Internet and talk radio and news outlets.”

Basically saying, “you built that.”

Donald Trump is the embodiment of the modern-day GOP. He’s hyperbolic, outrageous, and a liar. However, the rest of the GOP doesn’t seem to quite realize that, and as they call out Trump for being outrageous, they should really being saying it to the mirror.

President Obama was right to call these politicians out. Maybe they will soon realize that being outrageous may get them media time, but will likely not get votes as everyone will look at them like the jerks that they are.
