Trump Campaign Attempts to Invalidate Latino Votes in Nevada, is Denied

by Joan McCarter – Donald Trump’s junk challenge to the large early vote among Latinos in Nevada has been shot down by an incredulous—and pissed off—judge. The campaign was asking“for ballots and voting machines to be ‘set aside, sequestered, and impounded’ from four early voting locations” A little before noon, local time, on Tuesday, Judge Gloria J. Sturman denied the request, after a hearing.At the hearing, she expressed significant, repeated skepticism of almost every aspect of the lawsuit—from the campaign’s standing to bring the lawsuit in the first place to the question of whether other relevant parties like the secretary of state had appropriate notice to the remedy the campaign was seeking. “You’ve failed to exhaust administrative remedies,” she said, noting that the Trump campaign should have first asked the secretary of state to address the campaign’s concerns. Shocker: Trump isn’t Winning Among Latino Voters… and Neither is the GOP

by Kerry Eleveld – Bad news on your support among Latino voters, Trump: Latino Decisions/America’s Voice National Survey June 29-July 5, 2016  Latino Decisions released polling Monday showing that fully 74 percent of Latinos support Hillary Clinton, while only 16 percent support Donald Trump. Analysts generally assume that the GOP candidate will need at least 40 percent of the Latino vote to recapture the White House but, given the growing number of Latino voters, Latino Decisions estimates Trump will need to carry anywhere from 42 to 47 percent of the Latino vote. Latinos also feel increasingly motivated to vote in 2016, with 54 percent already more enthused about this election than in 2012 (that’s up six points from April). In 2012, enthusiasm did not reach 50 percent until the last week of October.
