Traveling Robot Finds Life’s a Hitch and Then You Die

HitchBOT, beloved traveling companion of people across Canada and parts of Europe, met its demise Saturday in the City of Brotherly Love. An androgynous creature, hitchBOT left no spouse or children behind, just the smile of many who had encountered or met it on his travels. According to the robot’s website: HitchBOT’s trip came to an end last night in Philadelphia after having spent a little over two weeks hitchhiking and visiting sites in Boston, Salem, Gloucester, Marblehead, and New York City. Unfortunately, hitchBOT was vandalized overnight in Philadelphia; sometimes bad things happen to good robots.
