Secret Service Officially Can’t Afford to Pay Agents Thanks to Trump’s Constant Golf Trips

by John Prager – Donald Trump has been wasting taxpayer dollars on his personal vacations, protection for his giant golden tower in New York, security at his golf clubs, and pretty much everything else you can imagine ever since he assumed office, but if you needed an example of how bad things are…we can’t even afford to pay the Secret Service agents protecting him anymore. CNBC reports that more than 1,000 agents have “already hit the federally mandated caps for salary and overtime allowances that were meant to last the entire year” thanks to the “crushing workload” Donald Trump has brought them. The Secret Service has a big job with the Trump family. Not only do they have to protect him as he jaunts from golf course to golf course, but they are also forced to protect his sniveling children on their business trips both in the United States and abroad. “The...

Did Donald Trump’s Lawyer Accidentally Make a Huge Confession About the Meeting With the Russian Lawyer?

by Josh Israel – Jay Sekulow suggested the Secret Service vetted the meeting, but Donald Trump Jr. was not being protected at that time. Jay Sekulow, one of President Donald Trump’s attorneys, suggested Sunday that the July 2016 meeting between multiple Russians and Trump’s son, son-in-law, and campaign manager was vetted by the United States Secret Service. Although he claimed that the president did not know about or participate in the meeting — which was attended by Donald Trump Jr., Jared Kushner, and Paul Manafort — Sekulow suggested on ABC’s This Week that it could not have been really bad or else the agents would have stopped it. “I wondered why the Secret Service, if this was nefarious, why did the Secret Service allow these people in?” Sekulow told ABC’s Jonathan Karl. “The president had Secret Service protection at that point. That raised a question with me.” In November 2015, then-Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson approved Secret Service protection for then-candidates Donald Trump and Ben Carson....

The Secret Service has Requested an Extra $60 Million for Trump Family Travel and Protection

by Jen Hayden – No money for Meals on Wheels, no money for health care, endless money for the lifestyles of the rich and infamous: The U.S. Secret Service requested $60 million in additional funding for the next year, offering the most precise estimate yet of the escalating costs for travel and protection resulting from the unusually complicated lifestyle of the Trump family, according to internal agency documents reviewed by The Washington Post. Nearly half of the additional money, $26.8 million, would pay to protect President Trump’s family and private home in New York’s Trump Tower, the documents show, while $33 million would be spent on travel costs incurred by “the president, vice president and other visiting heads of state.” Additional funding was already rejected once in the short time Trump has been in office: A person familiar with internal Secret Service budget discussions said the requests for additional funding, prepared in...

Trump’s First Month Travel Expenses Cost Taxpayers Just Less than what Obama Spent in a Year

by Aaron Rupar – Meanwhile, his budget proposal cuts programs for poor people. On Monday, President Trump returned to Washington DC from his private Mar-a-Lago club in Florida, where he’s spent the last three weekends. The Washington Post reports that those three trips “probably cost the federal treasury about $10 million, based on figures used in an October government report analyzing White House travel, including money for Coast Guard units to patrol the exposed shoreline and other military, security and staffing expenses associated with moving the apparatus of the presidency.” So far, the highlight of Trump’s Mar-a-Lago trips has been he and his aides struggling to deal with an international crisis in full view of diners and staff during the evening of February 11. The three Mar-a-Lago getaways, combined with the hundreds of thousands of public dollars spent on Secret Service protection during two international trips Trump’s adult sons have taken to...

Taxpayers To Get Huge Bill For Protecting Trump Because New York City Can’t Afford It

by Rika Christensen – Manhattan is seeing significant problems due to Trump’s insistence on staying in Trump Tower during his transition. He needs protection. His family needs protection. The tower needs protection. New York City is willing to give extensive help to the Secret Service to do it, but they can’t afford it. And Mayor Bill de Blasio is now asking the federal government for help. That help could be to the tune of $35 million, in addition to the ongoing costs of protecting Melania and Barron through the end of the school year, and the costs of Trump’s need to go back to his tacky gilded penthouse as many weekends as he can. Thus far, the costs of protecting him in that tower are around $1 million per day. Now, sure, President Obama, Michelle and their daughters needed protection when they were in Chicago, Hawaii, etc. However, they didn’t go...

Ronald Reagan’s ‘Biggest Secret’ Revealed, Even Bush Sr. Didn’t Know About It

by ANTIPHON FREEMAN – Author Brad Meltzer stumbled across some interesting news while doing a research piece for his latest book at Secret Service headquarters in Washington D.C.  He was talking to a few agents and touring a small museum they had on premises, chit-chatting about little-known facts and whatnot when one agent dropped a truth bomb on him that he was not expecting to find out that day: We were talking about Reagan and that day he was shot. Then one of the agents offered this secret: When Reagan was President, he carried his own gun. I couldn’t believe it. After hearing this, the agents repeated the news again in order for the reality of the situation to fully seep in just a bit faster. “It’s true,” they said.  Reagan carried a .38 handgun around with him. He even used to hide it in his briefcase and take it on...

Intruder Caught After Scaling White House Fence

President inside during incident as building locked down for 90 minutes A 23-year-old Maryland man was in the custody Wednesday night after he climbed over the White House fence and was swiftly apprehended on the North Lawn by uniformed Secret Service agents and their dogs. The incident came roughly a month after an intruder armed with a knife scaled the White House fence and made it inside the executive mansion, raising questions about security levels at the heavily guarded complex and spurring the resignation of Secret Service Director Julia Pierson after 18 months on the job. Secret Service spokesman Brian Leary said a man he identified as Dominic Adesanya of Bel Air, Maryland, climbed the north fence line at about 7:16 p.m. and was taken into custody immediately by uniformed agents and K-9 teams that constantly patrol the grounds. “The individual was immediately taken into custody on the North lawn of the White House by Secret Service Uniformed Division K-9...
