Concealed Carry Permit Holders Are Killing People, But Not In Self Defense

Those deaths are the result of 579 separate shootings, all initiated by someone who was given the legal right to carry a concealed weapon in our communities– our schools, churches, shopping centers, movie theaters and everywhere else. The NRA desperately wants us to believe that giving ammosexual assholes the right to carry guns into our public spaces is going to make us so much safer. They keep telling us that “only a good guy with a gun can stop a bad guy with a gun.” And yet, out of the 579 shootings carried out by concealed carry permit holders since 2007, just 21 were in self-defense. Mexican Military Helicopters Reported to Have Opened Fire On US Boarder Patrol!

Yet still, this story that we might expect to be all over the mainstream, corporate media is being virtually ignored by all national media outlets. Only near the US-Mexican border itself have we seen reports of this helicopter attack covered locally. It all began when Border Patrol agents in Arizona were reported to have been fired upon by a Mexican military helicopter that traveled across the border where Mexican authorities had been conducting a drug interdiction operation. Reinterpretation of Constitution marks dramatic shift from decades-long pledge to pacifism By Lauren McCauley, Common Dreams – Prime Minister Shinzo Abe on Tuesday announced that despite public opposition the government of Japan was re-authorizing the military, marking a dramatic shift from the nation’s decades-long pledge to pacifism. In a meeting Tuesday, the government Cabinet approved a reinterpretation of Article 9 of the Japanese Constitution, permitting Japan to now exercise the right to “collective self defense.” The post-World War II document forbids the use of force in all cases except when the nation comes under direct attack, outlaws war as a means to settle international disputes, and disallows maintaining armed forces with war potential.
