The Most Influential Hispanic News Anchor In America Tells Trump ‘You’re Fired’ In A Scathing Op-Ed

Jorge Ramos

In 2008, McCain lost the race for the White House when he captured a pathetic 31 percent of the Latino vote. Four years later, Romney completely screwed himself by alienating Latinos so much that only 27 percent of the community supported him. After Romney was crushed, the RNC started talking about Latino outreach because they knew that they would never win the White House again if Hispanics continued, rightfully so, to see them as the enemy. So far, the new Republican contenders for the presidency have largely avoided hardline anti-immigrant talk; but, that all changed when Donald Trump entered the race. Now, Univision news anchor Jorge Ramos is lashing out at the guy with the bad hair and it is pretty awesome.

When Trump announced his bid for the presidency last week, his announcement was filled with a whole lot of crazy and hate. Instead of trying to woo Hispanic voters he said this:

“The U.S. has become a dumping ground for everybody else’s problems. Thank you. It’s true, and these are the best and the finest. When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best. They’re not sending you. They’re not sending you. They’re sending people that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems with us. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people.”

The Mexican community was left in stunned shock; Univision anchor Jorge Ramos, one of Time 100’s most influential people and probably the most well-known Hispanic news anchor in the country, is not happy. Ramos posted a scathing op-ed on Univision’s website and his own personal blog where he dared Trump to try to run his business for one day without the Mexicans he hates so much:

It is hypocrisy to criticize Mexicans while, at the same time, you benefit from their work. In the last few months I visited Trump’s hotels in Doral, Florida, and the Trump International Hotel and Tower in New York, and many of the extraordinary employees who attended me were Mexican. What do the employees think of their boss now? Why does he speak of Mexicans with such hate?

To Trump, who is so fond of setting challenges in his television show, The Apprentice, I propose the following: to spend one single day – just one – without their Mexican and Latino employees. He would not be able to do it. His businesses would be paralyzed. A day without Mexicans would stop the Trump empire.
That’s right, Trump talked all sorts of trash about a community that he can’t function without. If all of Trump’s Hispanic employees walked away from his business, there is no doubt it would have a major negative impact on his bottom line. But, Captain Crazy Hair is just like the rest of the GOP and attacked the Latino community in order to appeal to his racist, xenophobic base.

Ramos also addressed Trump’s asinine “I’d build a cheap wall” statement:

It would be a waste of time and money. Nearly 40 percent of all undocumented immigrants arrive by plane; They come with a visa and then stay. No wall built by Trump could stop that. Furthermore, why does Trump want a wall when the number of undocumented Mexicans arrested in the southern border has dropped from 1.6 million in 2000 to 229,000 in 2014? It is the lowest in four decades.

Over the last decade, the number of undocumented immigrants crossing into the USA from the Mexican border has dramatically decreased. The border is more secure than at any other time in history, but Republicans still talk about border security. The reason the GOP and idiots like Trump want to build a wall is because they want to keep the brown people out. You don’t hear them talking about building a wall along the Canadian border, which is much larger, to keep the white people out, do you? Nope.

Finally, Ramos let Trump know just how bad he screwed himself, if his intention was to really win the White House:

If Trump thought that his biased statements were going to get him votes, he was wrong. It’s the other way around. He has already lost the Latino vote and, therefore, the White House. He’s fired.

He’s not wrong; after that rant against a community that Republicans NEED to win the presidency, Trump has no chance in hell.
